Hanging Attitude Katarina

Starring Katarina, Scott Torvea and Adam Torvea

Katarina has been sentenced to hang for drug possession in a small, backwards section of the United States. She is being escorted to the pre-execution cell of the state women’s prison by two guards.

Katarina is wearing an orange jumpsuit with a white t-shirt underneath, plain bra and panties, and regular sneakers with white socks. Her hands are cuffed in front of her and her legs are cuffed as well.

Two guards walk Katarina to her prison cell. The main guard undoes the cuffs from her wrists and ankles. He tells her to sit down. The girl nervously goes and sits in a chair in the corner of the room.

Guard: Alright, so your sentence is gonna be carried out tomorrow morning at nine o’clock, and it’s going to be open to the public for viewing. I’m also required to inform you that it’ll be filmed, do you understand all that?

She nods.

Guard: Great, so I’m just going to go through the procedure with you step by step so you know exactly what to do tomorrow. We will get here to get you ready about half an hour before, and the first thing you’ll have to do for us is get undressed.

Katarina laughingly says: What?!

Guard: I said we’re gonna need you to undress

Katarina: Why?

Guard: You’ve been sentenced to hang nude, it’s part of the punishment

Katarina: Listen, I’m not taking my clothes off

Guard: Look I know you’re not excited about it but you’re responsible for your own situation, and you have to face the consequences.

Katarina: I’m not. Taking. My clothes off!

Guard: Okay well if you don’t, then I’ll have to call in more guards to come in and do it for you. Now would you rather listen to me or have six other officers watch you get naked?

She stays quiet

Guard: You know what, we can move on. You’ll have some time to think over cooperating

with me before tomorrow comes.

Katarina: No I don’t need time to think it over I just don’t wanna hang naked in front of a bunch of random people!

Guard: Look, do you want this to go smoothly or not?

(She dodges the question)

Katarina: You know what, I’m pretty sure it’s actually illegal for you to ask me to strip without providing a female officer

Guard: The law is very clear on this, and I need you to understand. Accepting it and cooperating will help us all out a lot, okay?

She folds her arms: Fuck that..

Executioner 1: If you don’t cooperate tomorrow we’re gonna have a problem. This’ll be way easier for both of us if you just decide to do the right thing, and do your duty. Now back to what I was saying, once you’re ready I’ll cuff you and escort you to the site. When we get there I’m gonna have you step on a stool, then I’ll put your noose on. After I read off your sentence I’ll take the stool out from under you. Your sentence is officially complete after spending two full hours with your entire body weight on the noose. After that time our medical team will come to make sure you’ve passed and they’ll handle the rest. Is that all clear to you?

Katarina: Yea..

Guard: Alright, well I have to meet with some other prisoners so we’re out of time, but I will come back tomorrow at 8:00 am.

Two guards are preparing the gallows for a full day of hangings. The gallows is a plain room with a noose hanging from the ceiling, nothing fancy. The head executioner is adjusting the noose while the other guard brings in a wooden chair for the prisoners stand on before hung. They discuss the height of the girl to be hung and go over everything.

The guards walk into the girl’s cell, and the head guard is carrying a bin for her clothes.

Executioner: Alright its time. Did you think about what I said yesterday about cooperating? It’ll make this a lot easier.

Katarina gets up without saying anything, and the executioner puts the bin on her cot

Executioner: Put everything in this bin, you can start with your uniform

Katarina: I’ll start with my shoes actually

Executioner: Fine, do whatever you want

She slowly unties her shoes and takes them off then puts them in the bin.

Executioner: Let’s go, off with the uniform.

She takes it off too and puts it in the bin, then takes off her t shirt and does the same with it.

Executioner: The rest too, come on

Katarina: This literally makes no sense..

Executioner: Take it off or I’m gonna get those guards in here right now, what do you want?

She hesitates

Executioner: that’s it I’m calling them

Katarina: Wait, please don’t..

Executioner: So take it off, I don’t have all fucking day here

(The girl takes off her bra and covers her breasts with her hands)

Executioner: Underwear too

Katarina: This is such a violation of my rights..

Executioner: Your rights have been suspended. Hurry up!

She takes them off and covers herself with both hands

Executioner: You have to take the socks off too

Katarina: Fine, whatever.

She takes them off and puts them in the bin

Executioner: Okay, hands behind your back please

He cuffs her hands behind her

Executioner: Let’s go, we’re gonna head down the hall and take a left, then it’s right downstairs.

They enter the gallows. Katarina has put on a brave face and walks quickly and confidently. She wants to get this over with and just sees it as a job she has to do. The head guard walks her over to the chair.

Executioner: Up you go, and face the glass

She looks up at the noose then steps onto the chair and faces the front. The executioner puts the noose around her neck and tightens it around her neck with the knot on the left side.

Executioner: Alright, are you ready?

Katarina: Yea, I guess so.. just get it over with.

Executioner: Okay, get that camera started

The other guard walks over to the front of the room and turns the camera on. The main executioner pulls out a piece of paper and starts reading.

Executioner:  You have been sentenced to hang by the neck according to the laws of Chester county. Your sentence will now be carried out. Do you have anything you want to say?

Katarina: Nope, just do it.

The executioner takes a step back and swiftly pulls the chair from under her feet, placing it in the corner of the room. The girl remains composed as the rope tightens around her neck, and bravely hangs still. She closes her eyes tightly from the pain but manages to control her body. However, after a few seconds the pain becomes unbearable and she lets out a loud gurgle.

She grits her teeth tightly and her face has an expression of extreme pain. Katarina did not expect it to hurt this much and she starts to panic. Choking loudly as if dry heaving and saliva begins to run down her chin and onto her chest. Although she fights hard to keep her tongue in her mouth the pressure from the rope forces it out. She begins to go into convulsions, and her body shakes. Her neck stretches under the weight of the rope. And her windpipe shuts, quieting her down and her movements start to slow.

Eventually she gives up and resigns herself to hanging there and waiting for death. She looks utterly done and exhausted, almost angry at what she had to go through. Once she goes still the executioner turns to the other guard. He tells him to turn the camera off and clear the crowd.

The guards come back and takes the cuffs off Katarina then puts a towel around her. They take her down carry her over to the gurney.
